We're delighted to have a strong population of strange-tailed tyrants at the reserve. So much so that we've adopted these beautiful and endangered birds as the symbol of the Trust
We have many Grassland Sparrows here at Reserva Don Luis during the summer. The distinctive metallic call is reminiscent of this time of year.
It is very confiding in nature and one can get quite close.
It has pale underparts with brown and cinnamon back and wings. The tail is often erect especially when calling. It has a long white supercilium which starts off bright yellow. It also has a yellow mark on the upper coverts.
